His last post on Telegram [Feb 13]: "In Vuhledar today, guys from the 155th advanced through dachas. Progress every day. It's nice. We will continue tomorrow. All the best🫡"

@Yra1000 It is a question of degree. Bakhmut likely is sapping Ukrainian units that will be needed for its future offensives, but they clearly don't have their entire force on the front line currently defending. Of course, there is no guarantee any town Ukraine loses now will be retaken.

@Yra1000 The difference is that Russia has mobilized now, so they are unlikely to face the same kind of manpower shortage that left Kharkiv vulnerable.

@Yra1000 Yes, and the Kherson offensive was a tough fight for Ukraine despite having the advantage of Russian forces with their back to the Dnipro. Also, easier for Russian forces to reinforce different parts of the front now.
