That means 70-75% of Russia's total battalion tactical groups is committed plus Rosgvardia, army/division-level assets, and possibly contract reservists. To mass this force, the Russian military is stretched thin leaving it vulnerable if another crisis occurs.

The Pentagon now assesses that nearly 100 percent of the Russian combat power prestaged at the Ukrainian border are now committed to the fight, a senior U.S. defense official says.

Presumably, this is mostly talking about air, ground, and sea-launched cruise missiles and ballistic missiles. Not sure if this refers to air-launched anti-radar missiles, but I would assume not. Either way, that is a large number given Russia's Kalibr missile production issues.

"It appears as though the Russians are increasing their use of long-range fires to supplement or make up for the lack of ground movement that they have had, and the lack of air superiority that they enjoy," senior U.S. defense official says.

Notably, there have been videos of Russian military equipment loaded onto trains in the Eastern Military District.

@iAmTheWarax They put them on trains just to excite you.

I know some people were concerned that Russian forces wouldn't stop in Ukraine, but the Russian military's ground forces are going to going to be stretched thin while committed in Ukraine for the foreseeable future, not to mention casualties and equipment losses.

@lrozen Not sure. I think they're just surprised they're at war and facing such strong resistance, both from the Ukrainian military and from civilians. Enlisted soldiers clearly were not prepared properly for this war.

Losses from VDV, spetsnaz, and razvedchiki units are likely quite high, which is also a problem given that they're the ones who typically deploy to Syria.
