The S-400 was not designed to counter HIMARS or MLRS (even ROE's website doesn't make this claim). It is a long-range air defense system with an ability to counter tactical-medium-range ballistic missiles. Russia deployed Tor-M2 and Pantsir-S1 to Khmeimim to deal with rockets.

Obviously, countering Grad rockets vs HIMARS munitions is a completely different story, but I doubt Almaz-Antey is being blamed for the performance of S-400 in Ukraine due to HIMARS. It will be worth examining how S-300V have performed against Tochka-U though.

ARCHER is the best truck mounted howitzer in the world. Only 48 exist. It carries 21 rounds which can be fired in Less than 3 minutes to a range of 30-60 km without a soldier leaving the vehicle
