Russia has an artillery advantage in some parts of the front and its air force is conducting more air strikes that Ukraine (though they are less effective because of Ukrainian air defenses). Russian forces had varying degrees of success breaking out from the Donbas in Feb-March.

@raresteamedhams @TomTothIron who's pincer from where to where?

One of the biggest failures of Russia's strategy in Ukraine is that it failed to achieve favorable force ratios for the key objectives in this war (e.g. Kyiv).

Technology has changed but you still have to protect tanks from infantry with AT weapons, artillery, and aviation just like in WWII. If tanks don't have enough infantry, air defenses, reconnaissance, and artillery to suppress/defeat those threats, they'll be vulnerable.

@ColeFPetersen @dupuyinstitute Agreed, force ratios by themselves miss many key aspects of combat power and certainly aren’t determinant. My main point is that I don’t think it is clear that Russia has actually achieved favorable ratios that often during this war.

@HN_Schlottman @ColeFPetersen @dupuyinstitute From some of the data I've seen, BTGs deployed to Ukraine vary from like 400-900 personnel, but the average is smaller than previously expected. Russia apparently decided to reduce the T/O of motorized rifle battalions from 460/540 to ~345. Many BTGs deployed with only 450-600.

Senator Rand Paul must be investigated

-He blocked the vote on $40 billion for Ukraine yesterday

-His aide was convicted for funneling Russian money

-He’s the only Republican Senator who voted against the Nord Stream 2 Bill and consistently votes against Russia sanctions (1/2)

@Danspiun:
14. So on possible retreating a later image (as two new wrecks). First skeptical, but SAR imagery 2022-05-13 06:11 shows 6 of 8 turrets in water. Report says tanks retreat with barrels reversed - see tracks lead in. Not sure if same as in twt 13. Image JP.

-He said that Ukraine is “Part of Russia” earlier this year to justify the invasion

-He spreads misinformation about USA funding Biological Weapons labs in Ukraine

Senator Paul has a pattern of siding with Russia and against Ukraine. He must at the minimum be investigated (2/2)
Ukraine Battle Map (Twitter)

@Luvenalis1 He voted for two stimulus’s in 2020 one was 2.2 trillion and the other was 3 trillion.
This means that Senator Rand Paul, would vote for $5.2 Trillion to inflate the economy a lot but he wouldn’t vote for 0.8% of that for Ukraine.
Plus if Russia’s not stopped US will spend more.
Ukraine Battle Map (Twitter)

@RealLeekster @ImagyStranger America paid $5 trillion in Stimulus bills that Rand Paul voted for but he thinks 0.7% of that is to much money. If USA doesn’t give Ukraine the weapons they need then USA will need to invest more in the military. You have a “Z” symbol in your bio and always say proRussia things.
