@DastDn: Yes, neither of which should be discounted, but the US will never be able to force a bad deal on Ukraine. Zelensky doesn't have the legal authority to cede Ukrainian territory to Russia and if he tried he would be removed from office, one way or another.

All aircraft need to receive software updates to stay relevant, that's not unique to F-35.

Gripen does not have a meaningful advantage for operating in austere environments. Why do you think Norway, Finland and Denmark all chose F-35 over it?
