As expected a bunch of promises about meetings.
Putin likely explained that there can be no negotiations if Ukraine gets cruise missiles.

We saw it a few months ago with the Alaska meeting, Putin stepped in just in time to avoid sanctions when he saw Trump was getting frustrated and after that nothing ever happened. Now two months later, he steps in so Ukraine wont get cruise missiles.

Putin probably promised to do peace negotiations if Trump don't send cruise missiles. There will be lower level talks between Rubio and Russians who cant decide anything. They will reiterate stupid Russian standpoints, probably some which they know Ukraine cant acceept.

In the end, nothing will come out of that meeting and everyone will agree that nothing can happen until Trump and Putin meets. This is when Putin will make promises he won't keep. Meanwhile Russia will keep reminding Trump that they cant negotiate if cruise missiles are sent.

After the Trump Putin meeting I'm sure we will see delays for a few months until Trump gets frustrated again and we will see this whole ting repeat it self.

The absolutely fastest way forward would be for Trump to announce, that Russia are welcome to negotiate, but until there is any concrete action from Russia towards a peace settlement, the US will support Ukraine with weapons.

It will be interesting to see how the whole ICC thing will play out, perhaps an excellent opportunity to get rid of Hungary from EU if they are not compliant with ICC regulation.
