@TomSharpe134 @steffanwatkins @DabberThoughts @SecGenNATO: This is the second deployment of a Kilo to the Med without access to Tartus.
The rescue tug accompanying both of these acts as a general purpose auxiliary and is what enables a long deployment, far beyond the normal patrol length.
My take: There is likely nothing wrong with the sub and with a rescue tug supporting, Kilo Med patrols without Tartus is doable.

The return journey might have taken a bit longer than usual but they might have done weather avoidance at some point and they crossed paths with the Ford CSG, somewhere between STROG and Lisbon.
