The irony is that the Marine Corps arguably does the best of any branch at empowering NCOs and junior leaders while also emphasizing tough training.

Drone warfare has not lessened the requirements for physical fitness or toughness for infantry and many other specialties. Ukrainian infantry often have to walk up to 10 kilometers just to reach the front line and often spend months at a time on the zero line without rotation. UAS crews often have to walk long distances with heavy equipment as well. Poor physical fitness remains a liability in combat.
