🇺🇸🇧🇪🇮🇹🇷🇴 The US State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to the NATO Support and Procurement Agency of 96 AIM-9X Sidewinder missiles, plus associated equipment and services for an estimated cost of $103.9 million.
This is on behalf of Belgium (8 missiles), Italy (24), and Romania (64).
Sidewinder unit cost is ~$400,000.
The prime contractor would be Raytheon.
"The description and dollar value are for the highest estimated quantity and dollar value based on initial requirements. Actual dollar value will be lower depending on final requirements, budget authority, and signed sales agreement(s), if and when concluded."
