RT @samotniyskhid: As a result of today’s prisoner exchange from Russian captivity, Bohdan Kovalchuk, who had been arrested by the Russians in 2016 at the age of 17, was released.
Bohdan was convicted in the so-called “Yasynuvata saboteurs case,” under which several young Ukrainians were detained in Russian-occupied Yasynuvata, accused of carrying out sabotage against the Russian occupiers.
In 2018, the occupation court of the so-called “DPR” sentenced Bohdan to 10 years in prison.
In 2019, Bohdan refused a pardon from the Russians, the condition of which was to forgo an exchange to the Ukrainian side.
