@Mortenthebjorn @exit266 @InaHPKvam: I think the lead up to a full scale war in the Baltic would be something of a battle for the first salvo, with both sides trying to be in the best possible position when the missiles start flying. When they do fly, it will be bloody for both sides.

But, the long term prospect for the Baltic Fleet in wartime isn't good. This is why they are experimenting with Kalibr capable ships on Lake Ladoga, something which is possible in the warmer parts of the year.

Also, I don't think we should rule out the possibility of at least some ships, especially the larger ones, being transferred to augment the Northern Fleet ahead of hostilities.
