RT @ABarbashin: As @faridaily_ reports Russia’s oil and gas profits in 2024 were second highest in Russia’s history: 11.1 trillion rubles.
That’s a huge component of Russia’s capability to sustain war efforts and internal stability

"The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained the chief psychiatrist of the Armed Forces over suspected illicitnrichment in the amount of over $1 million, the agency reported on Jan. 21.
According to charges, the official has acquired substantial undeclared assets since the outbreak of the full-scale war in 2022, including a house in Kyiv Oblast, apartments in Kyiv and Odesa, luxury cars, and plots of land.
The detainee also serves as the deputy head of the central medical commission that determines the suitability of potential recruits for military service.
Though the SBU did not name the suspect, Oleh Druz serves as the chief military psychiatrist.
Military medical commissions have come under increasing scrutiny after suspected instances of corruption and other violations.

"Used in infantry attacks and largely unsupported by armored vehicles or artillery, the North Koreans have appeared in videos shot from Ukrainian drones—cut down as they trek across barren fields. Ukrainian soldiers say they have been impressed by the North Koreans’ willingness to press forward even as their comrades perish alongside them...
North Korean troops have also chosen death over capture, Ukrainian soldiers say, carrying a grenade with which to blow themselves up or, in rare cases, a shiv with which to cut their arteries. One North Korean detained by Ukrainians was taken alive before but, heavily wounded, he died during transportation, according to Ukrainian officials.
'Their motivation is at a high level,' said Green. 'Their physical training is at a high level, and their readiness to die is the same.'"

@NickDecoteau4 @KonigKaos: Did you see how often I posted in the last 3 months? I post less than any Pro-Ukrainian account. Me getting $25 in a month is nothing, I could care less about that. And I posted a lot before there was any revenue program.
I’ve made 34 non-comment, non-poll posts in the past month. That’s about one per day. Look at other pro-Ukrainian accounts. On average, they post 25 to 40 times per day, which is what I do in one month.
I'm not saying it's a good thing I don’t post a lot. I should post more. If I were getting paid for any of this other than the pennies from X, then I would’ve been fired a long time ago. I do this because I am from Ukraine and interested in the war. I am just saying it’s ridiculous to say I am getting paid to put out posts. It’s my opinion and the opinion of the majority of Ukrainians. Is all of Ukraine now getting paid to have an opinion? Now there are accounts that are actually getting paid to put out posts, are posting so much from morning to night that it is basically a full time job. However, I am the opposite of that.

RT @larissaphillip: Years ago I read a cute memoir by an Aussie who married a Frenchman and moved to Paris. It was like a survival guide. There was a chapter on dinner parties.
She said that in Paris, at a dinner party, you must have an opinion. It didn't matter what your opinion on a topic was; you must have one and you must be prepared to argue it. It was better to have a crazy or terrible opinion than none. Only a boring guest would have no opinion.
Maybe there's no dinner parties because we're not allowed to disagree with friends, and then what's the point.

You know something weird ? The number of people reporting going to dinner parties at least once per week has fallen 90% since 1950. Actually it fell 90% by the 1990s. Just weird, since there’s no law against dinner parties. You can just ask your friends to…
