GeoConfirmed World - New Orleans.
Our team is currently geolocating and mapping all relevant footage related to the incident in New Orleans, where at least ten people were killed and thirty more injured after a man drove a pickup truck into crowds on Bourbon Street during New Year's celebrations.
So far we have geolocated eight possible victims and the perpetrator's vehicle, including the moment when police officers intercepted the perpetrator and were fired upon.
We have not yet found any evidence indicating that the perpetrator exited his vehicle to fire at civilians/survivors, as claimed by some.
This would be quite unusual, considering the footage shows police officers engaging with the perpetrator while he remained in his vehicle, and bystanders were already assisting victims in the immediate vicinity.

To pinpoint a video’s location and assess its timeframe, our volunteers use tools like Google Maps or Google Earth. They compare specific elements in the video to satellite imagery and existing photos from the area, looking for matching features such as tree lines, buildings, monuments, or electricity lines. Once verified by an administrator, the video is added to the map.

Yuriy Butusov wrote a long post about problems with the formation of the 155th Mechanized Brigade. He says more than 1,700 soldiers went AWOL before it deployed to the front line, including more than 50 soldiers while training in France. Among the problems, more than 2,500 soldiers were taken from the brigade during its formation and sent to other units as combat replacements, the brigade deployed to the front with an insufficient number of UAVs and C-UAS equipment, the brigade's leadership had little time to train with many of their soldiers who were assigned to the brigade (but remained in Ukraine) while they were in France, and the brigade's units have now been attached to other units instead of fighting as a brigade despite receiving modern equipment.
