RT @NavalInstitute: #OTD in 1941, the destroyers Hayate and Kisaragi became the first Japanese surface warships to be sunk following Pearl Harbor. Hayate exploded after being hit by Marine 5" coast-defense guns while Kisaragi was sunk by Marine F4F-3 Wildcats during the Battle of Wake Island.

@Deadlyey5 @Maks_NAFO_FELLA: Exactly, the accuracy is the biggest issue; not only the accuracy but a potentially equally big issue is the cost and production of the missile and its new specialized warheads. IRBMs cost around $20 to +$40 million to make one missile. That is equivalent to 7 to +15 Iskander-Ms.

@joaosphinx @Maks_NAFO_FELLA: We have geolocated videos (I personally spent hours confirming the geolocation of the buildings hit), and Russian sources also confirmed that geolocation. Multiple satellite images of the factory show exactly where the dummy warheads hit, showing no holes were made in the roofs.

@ukraine_map @joaosphinx @Maks_NAFO_FELLA: It’s a common talking point that Ukraine doesn’t release images of whether or not Russia hit an important military target. It would be completely stupid/pointless to do that. In this case, it wouldn’t make sense to take photos of the roof to show. There are satellite images, too.

Russia or an RU Telegram channel decided to photoshop an image of an ATACMS missile to make it seem like it was shot down over Taganrog last night

They did a terrible job of photoshopping it and forgot that ATACMS cluster submunitions separate from the rocket motor before impact

Did they actually think people wouldn’t notice that and believe it was shot down?

@ukraine_map @cym27s: I don’t think they can do a worse job at photoshopping than this. Did a 5 year old do this?

@MyLordBebo: Stop reporting Russian propaganda, Lord Pedo. The image of the ATACMS is visibly photoshopped, and whoever did it did a terrible job of photoshopping it

The missile shows a regular separation of the submunition payload from the rocket motor, consistent with a successful strike
