💥✈️IL-76 with Russians on board was shot down by mistake in Sudan!

On October 21, an IL-76 transport plane crashed near Al-Makhla in Sudan's North Darfur province. The plane was mistakenly shot down by RSF rebels, who were the intended recipient of the planes cargo.

The RSF initially said that at around 4:00 a.m. today, a transport plane of the type they said was being used as a bomber by Sudanese government forces was shot down.

But, the destroyed aircraft turned out to be a civilian Il-76 belonging to the Emirati carrier New Way Cargo.

The plane was likely rented to transport illegal military supplies for the RSF. The group relies heavily on material and financial support from the United Arab Emirates. UAE officials claim that the carriers are carrying humanitarian aid, although a UN panel of experts and The New York Times believe that it is mostly military supplies.
