🇺🇸🇦🇺 Thales Australia will produce both rocket motors and warheads for Lockheed Martin's GMLRS.

Australia's domestic production of GMLRS will initially consist of final assembly of components from the US, but localized component production will slowly be grown in Australia.

Rocket motors have historically been sourced from either L3Harris' Aerojet Rocketdyne or Northrop Grumman, while warheads are made by General Dynamics Ordnance & Tactical Systems.

LM & GD-OTS recently announced they would jointly produce the rocket motors for GMLRS themselves. Thales Australia would potentially be a fourth supplier, if they can grow production capacity to support more than just Australia's own localized final assembly.

@Gusacenco: Rheinmetall is already partnering with Lockheed Martin on GMARS. If there are orders then there could be a business case for localizing GMLRS production in Europe too. It is the obvious choice for European customers who want a domestically produced system.
