RT @deaidua: Interesting! After the 100th Separate Mechanized Brigade recently received Marder 1A3 IFVs delivered by Germany, the 225th Separate Assault Battalion as part of the 115th Separate Mechanized Brigade just made public, that they also received Marder 1A3 IFVs for the first time.
This makes the 115th Separate Mechanized Brigade the second brigade of the Ground Forces of Ukraine, after the 100th Separate Mechanized Brigade, to deploy the German-made infantry fighting vehicles. Just a few weeks ago, this privilege was reserved for the Air Assault Forces.
It is unknown whether Germany has delivered the last 20 pledged Marder 1A3 IFVs to Ukraine (scheduled for September 2024 at the latest) — in which case the IFVs would be equipped with additional laser range finders — or whether vehicles have been moved around within the Ukrainian units.
