/2. Details about Mi-28 crash in Kaluga region of Russia:

“The Mi-28 that crashed in the Kaluga region was a “UAV hunter”. Before the crash, the crew was just returning from a combat mission on the border with the Bryansk region.

As the Ministry of Defense reported, the cause of the emergency was a technical malfunction on board. According to Russian media, during the flight to the deployment point, the crew discovered a fire in the cabin. According to one version, it was due to a malfunction in the engine. The pilot took the helicopter to a deserted place, and it fell near the village of Klenki. Therefore, there are no casualties or destruction on earth.

The crew - two people - died.”

She did have a shadow with her and based on the silhouette and length it is almost certain that it's the Admiral Gorshkov

RT @ryankakiuchan: @ryankakiuchan: If my memory serves me right, this would be the first time for NORAD to detect and intercept Chinese bombers in Alaska ADIZ.

It looks like Russia and China conducted a joint air patrol after a joint naval patrol.

Video of the joint Russian - Chinese bomber patrol off Alaska.

They flew from Anadyr, see furter down in @krakek1's thread.

I think we'll see more of this. https://twitter.com/krakek1/status/1816379563443716469#m

RT @kromark: 1/2 High-resolution @planet images of the Russian Morozovsk air base before and after the Ukrainian drones strike on July 22. I can't see any signs of damaged buildings or planes. The July 24 image shows that the base is operating as usual, no signs of planes being moved away.

@PatrickLundstr1 @krakek1: These flights (and the naval patrols too) do mean something to China and on this instance they did something that they wouldn't be able to (easily) do without Russian cooperation.

I'm fairly sure this was first time Chinese bombers have been intercepted by North American based fighters so a notable event.

I think we'll see more of both naval and bomber patrols, in new areas.
