@cym27s: So Russia was able to hack the missile and know precisely where it was being launched to (no evidence for that), the missile they supposedly shot down (no evidence for that)
Are we supposed to believe everything that Russia says?

@ZVypic @nexta_tv: These are some of the hardest things to get exactly correct, it’s nearly impossible to know them all, and I would need to spend an entire day going through them, and still, some would be off. They are mostly accurate, but not exactly. Most of these are correct. Some are off a bit; for example, Poland can order up to 821 JASSM; the sale has been approved, but they will probably get 400 to 500, which is still a ton. The bigger picture is that they either already have or will be getting or ordering tons of equipment, and 1 or 2 Patriot systems aren’t going to do much to change that. You do understand that the main threat to Poland and Europe is Russia, and if Ukraine is not able to properly defend itself, then Russia becomes a much more significant threat to Poland.
2 Patriots could defend critical infrastructure that would cost tens of billions and years to fix, air bases with F-16s that will arrive in Ukraine and will be getting bombed consistently, and major cities with hundreds of thousands of civilians; they would shoot down Russian fighter jets launching hundreds of glide bombs at Ukraine so Poland does not have too because they would already be destroyed.
There is a war today, and Ukraine is the only one getting bombed; that is why they must be prioritized. There are no US troops with F-22s to help them; they are not in NATO like Poland and aren’t getting stealth F-35s either. They need every bit of help they can get, or Russia will be a more significant threat to Europe. Poland will still get their systems, but getting as many Systems and Missiles as possible to Ukraine is more important now. I also believe that the Baltics should get more equipment because they have given much of what they have to Ukraine and are significantly weaker than Poland, Germany, or other countries. They are not getting 1/50th of the equipment Poland would be getting or has, and they are helping Ukraine a lot because they know that’s the #1 way to weaken Russia as a threat to them. After all, if Russia wins, then they would easily take them without immediate NATO interference.

@RFERL: Basically, US should say if Russia releases him then US will take some sanctions off, then take off the sanctions, get Paul Whelan back and put the sanctions right back on again becuase his arrest was totally illegal by international law. Give Russia a taste of their own medicine

@cym27s: Do you know how the ATACMS fly, though? ATACMS do not have a predictable ballistic trajectory. They reach a certain altitude and fly at that altitude until they reach their target with some maneuvering, so there is no way of knowing what the target is. That S-400 system that was destroyed a couple of weeks ago near Stroitel, Donetsk Oblast, was 12km from the Russian border. If the ATACMS had kept flying straight, they would have hit Rostov, but they didn’t because their target was Ukraine's S-400 air defense system.
Let’s theoretically say that Russia shot those ATACMS down (in reality, the S-400 was completely destroyed, and there was no evidence one was shot down), but let’s say they did. They could make the same claim that the attack was on Rostov but failed when it was on the S-400 in Donetsk.
But I would first like to see some evidence, any evidence that any missiles have been shot down because it’s been three months, and they claimed to have shot down probably 100 ATACMS missiles but have shown evidence for none of them while showing evidence in the past for shooting down Storm Shadows, Drones, and GMLRS numerous times in the past. This comes from the same people who said 50 HIMARS had been destroyed when only ~20 had been delivered; they showed evidence for ~3-4 HIMARS that were possibly destroyed or damaged.

@nunu2077 @bneeditor: Well, Russia wanted escalation, which is part of the reason they escalated and invaded Ukraine in 2022; they constantly escalated the conflict and wanted an excuse to blame Ukraine or US and have a justification to invade Donbas further and make Ukrainians look like terrorists.

@MarioNawfal: That’s not what the US is allowing. The US is letting Ukraine strike Russian forces that are about to attack or are attacking them from Russia within a 70km range. Ukraine is limited with the number of shells and missiles they have, and they are not allowed to strike with ATACMS.
