But it is important to keep in mind that the greatest challenge that Ukraine faces is a lack of manpower and available forces. Russia is trying to stretch these forces even more before further offensive operations in the Donbas and Zaporizhzhia oblasts. This policy change would not solve all of Ukraine's problems.

@BullishonMars: I think there is a difference in escalation risks between Ukraine striking strategic targets deep into Russia with US weapons and tactical targets to stop a limited offensive across the border.

@KeKihlstrom: That’s the area where Russia had MiG-31, MiG-30, and Su-34 Fighter Jets stationed at the airbase. The results of the strike are not known yet and will need satellite confirmation to do a proper damage assessment, but the area where fires took place are where the fighter jets are.
