This tracks with what Russian POWs have said, with minimal attempts by Russian forces near the border to conceal their movements/equipment, and obvious coordination issues during the invasion. It also partially explains why the Russian military is performing worse than expected.

Belarusian authorities want to “get money” from brands that have suspended advertising in the Belarusian market because of the regime’s complicity in the war, but continued their work in the country.
