Keep in mind that these guys are essentially better armed SWAT teams. They aren't trained or equipped for fighting a conventional war, and they've been pushed too close to the front on a number of occasions and have sustained heavy losses.

Yesterday Ukrainian police reported that Russian forces deployed "phosphorous munitions" in Popasna, Luhansk region.
We believe this most likely was a salvo of 9M22S incendiary rockets fired from a Grad MLRS, which, while not phosphorous, are still restricted in civilian areas. https://t.co/F33XigYjBF
