According to Foresight News, the community of Spotify users known as Unwrapped DAO has voted to tokenize their Spotify usage data and sell the dataset to the AI music platform SoloAI. This transaction is executed using the decentralized infrastructure of the data sovereignty protocol Vana. Through this process, users receive VRC-20 data tokens by pooling their data.
These VRC-20 data tokens grant contributors programmable control, value-sharing rights, and on-chain voting rights. Additionally, they can be used to authorize access to the dataset.
