Cyprus issued an air safety alert on the morning of March 4, according to Cyprus National Broadcasting Corporation. The alert was triggered around 9:30 a.m. local time due to a suspicious flying object moving towards Cyprus. According to Jin10, Greek Air Force jets were scrambled from a military base within Cyprus to address the situation. For safety reasons, staff at the U.S. Embassy in Cyprus were relocated to an underground area. Two Greek Air Force F-16 jets took off from the Andreas Papandreou Air Base in Paphos, located in western Cyprus, to intercept the object before it entered Cypriot airspace.
