🚀 0G Transforms Into Decentralized AI Operating System

According to Odaily, the modular AI blockchain 0G has transitioned into a decentralized AI operating system (dAIOS). This new system allows users to store and manage data on-chain through a decentralized storage network. The complete data availability ensures verifiable and transparent AI models, enabling the creation of an economic structure that promotes fair monetization and proper goal alignment for all ecosystem participants.

Key components of 0G include 0G Storage, 0G DA, and 0G Services, which work together to meet any AI needs or use cases. Additionally, 0G supports the development of decentralized AI projects within the decentralized AI field, providing a fast, low-cost, and highly scalable data storage and data availability infrastructure for anyone in Web3. The platform is also collaborating with mainstream Web3 participants to build a broad ecosystem.

🚀 OpenAI Employees Offered Stock Sale Opportunity Amid SoftBank Deal

According to Odaily, a special stock sale arrangement between OpenAI and Japan's SoftBank Group will allow approximately 400 current and former OpenAI employees to cash in millions of dollars. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that this tender offer permits certain OpenAI employees and former employees to sell their shares to SoftBank at $210 per share. This transaction enables employees to monetize part of their equity, with the company's valuation having doubled over the past year to $157 billion.

SoftBank plans to purchase up to $1.6 billion worth of shares from eligible shareholders, who must have received restricted stock units more than two years ago to participate. Eligible OpenAI shareholders must decide by December 24 whether to sell and how much to sell. OpenAI currently employs over 2,000 people. If the offer is oversubscribed, current OpenAI employees will be prioritized over former employees. Each eligible current employee can cash out up to $10 million. Depending on participation, former employees may not be able to sell the full $10 million in equity, but according to OpenAI's rules, they will be able to cash out at least $2 million worth of stock.

Sources indicate that OpenAI has stated the total amount of stock eligible for sale is $2 billion. With SoftBank agreeing to purchase $1.6 billion, this leaves potentially $400 million worth of stock without a buyer.

🚀 OpenAI Faces Monetization Challenges in India Despite Rapid Growth

According to PANews, OpenAI is encountering difficulties in monetizing its services in India, despite the country emerging as one of the fastest-growing markets for ChatGPT. Reports from TechCrunch indicate that since 2023, Indian users have spent approximately $8 million through in-app purchases, a figure significantly lower than the $330 million spent by users in the United States. The primary reasons cited for this disparity include the high subscription cost of $20 per month and the absence of localized pricing. In response, OpenAI is exploring a partnership with Indian telecom giant Jio to expand its reach and achieve its goal of serving billions of users.

🚀 Trump's Presidency Sparks Debate Over Monetization of Office

According to BlockBeats, recent actions by U.S. President Donald Trump, including receiving a plane from Qatar and hosting cryptocurrency events, have raised concerns about the monetization of the presidency. The New York Times highlighted that Trump and his family have leveraged the White House for financial gain more than any previous administration, normalizing activities that would have previously sparked strong opposition and official investigations.

Scholars studying corruption in public office suggest that by traditional Washington standards, Trump's administration is in its early stages but is already one of the most blatant in using public office for personal gain in U.S. history. This level of audacity may surpass that of the Watergate scandal and other notable controversies.

The report indicates that since Trump regained power, he has normalized profit-driven initiatives that once triggered endless political backlash, televised hearings, official probes, and damage control efforts. The diminishing outrage, or at least the lack thereof, during Trump's era reflects the extent to which he has altered the established norms of behavior in Washington.

🚀 OpenAI Faces High Costs with Sora Video App Despite Growing Downloads

According to PANews, OpenAI's video generation app, Sora, has surpassed 4 million downloads, yet it incurs significant operational costs. The app reportedly spends approximately $15 million daily on AI video generation, leading to an annual expenditure exceeding $5 billion. Analysts estimate that producing a 10-second video costs about $1.3 on average, which is considerably higher than the current free usage level offered to users.

The report highlights that OpenAI is in an aggressive expansion phase, prioritizing user base growth and video training data acquisition over immediate profitability. Company executives acknowledge that Sora's current economic model is "completely unsustainable." In the future, OpenAI may reduce free usage and explore monetization strategies through fees or advertising.

🚀 Kazakhstan's Central Bank Considers Up to $300 Million Investment in Crypto Tools

According to PANews, Kazakhstan's central bank is contemplating an investment of up to $300 million in cryptocurrency tools. On November 28, Timur Suleimenov, head of the country's regulatory body, disclosed this information during a press conference. Suleimenov clarified that the investment amount could range from $50 million to $250 million, rather than the full $300 million. He noted the challenges posed by the current downturn in the cryptocurrency market, which has led to a reevaluation of monetization and profitability prospects.

Suleimenov emphasized that the funds for this potential investment are not sourced from Kazakhstan's national fund but from the central bank's gold and foreign exchange reserves. Within this framework, a portfolio has been established to invest in high-tech stocks and other financial instruments related to digital financial assets. However, the regulatory body is not rushing into these investments. Suleimenov stated, "We will not make hasty decisions until favorable investment opportunities arise. Given the current decline in digital, financial, and crypto assets, we need to wait and observe before making investment decisions. We are not in a hurry."

🚀 Aave DAO and Aave Labs Clash Over Fee Distribution from CoW Swap Integration

According to Cointelegraph, a dispute has emerged between the Aave decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) and Aave Labs, the primary development company for Aave products, regarding the distribution of fees from a recent integration with decentralized exchange aggregator CoW Swap. The controversy was initiated by a pseudonymous Aave DAO member, EzR3aL, who pointed out that fees generated from crypto asset swaps using CoW Swap were being directed to an onchain address not associated with the Aave DAO treasury. Instead, these fees are reportedly going to a private address controlled by Aave Labs. EzR3aL questioned why the DAO was not consulted before the fees were redirected and argued that the revenue rightfully belongs to the DAO.

Aave Labs responded by asserting that the front-end components for the website and application interfaces have always been under its jurisdiction. The company also claimed responsibility for funding the development of the "adapters," which are essential lines of code enabling swaps and other integrations. Despite this explanation, tensions remain high, with several DAO members contending that the Aave DAO initially funded the development of the original adapter technology, and thus, the revenue from the integration should benefit the DAO.

Marc Zeller, founder of the Aave-Chan Initiative, a delegate platform for the Aave governance community, expressed concern over the decision to route fees exclusively to Aave Labs. Zeller criticized Aave Labs for redirecting Aave user volume towards competition in pursuit of monetization, labeling the move as "unacceptable." Cointelegraph attempted to contact Aave Labs for further comment but did not receive a response by the time of publication. This conflict underscores the complexities involved in managing a DAO, a novel governance and organizational structure that offers advantages over traditional business models but also presents unique challenges.

🚀 Aptos Achieves Record On-Chain Revenue for Two Consecutive Weeks

According to Foresight News, data from DeFiLlama indicates that Aptos has set new records for on-chain application revenue for two consecutive weeks. From December 22 to December 28, 2025, Aptos generated approximately $1.65 million in revenue, which increased to $1.75 million from December 29, 2025, to January 4, 2026. On December 31, 2025, Aptos achieved a single-day revenue of $1.07 million, marking a historical high.

The revenue primarily stems from transaction fees, protocol fees, and other application-level monetization, serving as a crucial indicator of genuine on-chain usage and economic density. The continuous rise in application revenue suggests that Aptos network activity is transitioning from short-term incentive-driven growth to being driven by actual utility and sustainable monetization, indicating a steady improvement in the quality of ecosystem development.

🚀 SocialFi Platforms Face Decline by 2026 Due to Core Deficiencies

SocialFi platforms are projected to face significant challenges by early 2026, with many being abandoned, acquired, or losing functionality, according to ChainCatcher. Tokens associated with these platforms are expected to plummet by 90-99%, and communities may vanish once incentives dry up. Friend.tech serves as a notable example, having generated substantial fees and attention at its peak, only to see activity drop by over 95% within months, leading to a token collapse.

The fundamental flaw lies in SocialFi's blending of social interaction with speculation. Platforms have monetized individuals rather than the platform itself, shifting user focus from content quality to potential financial gains. This monetary influence alters incentive structures, which in turn changes behaviors and ultimately undermines cultural foundations. Vitalik Buterin has criticized SocialFi for being developed by market-obsessed individuals attempting to address issues that only social thinkers can truly comprehend.
