According to CoinDesk, Wingbits, a Stockholm-based protocol developing a DePIN flight-tracking network on the Solana blockchain, has secured $3.5 million in seed funding. The funding round was led by Borderless Capital and Tribe Capital, with participation from Antler and angel investors. Wingbits rewards the quality of data captured by antennas maintained by amateurs and enthusiasts. Individuals are rewarded based on performance, coverage, and uptime, with global leaderboards comparing the best-performing antennas. At the end of 2023, the platform had 40 nodes, which has now grown to nearly 2,000 nodes.
In other news, Nuffle, a blockchain modularity-focused project that spun out of NEAR in June with $13 million in funding, is expanding EigenLayer multichain. The team behind NEAR DA and the Nuffle Fast Finality Layer actively validated service (AVS) is developing the Nuff Protocol. This permissionless platform enables AVSs to leverage cryptoeconomic security from any blockchain safely and natively while settling on the EigenLayer ecosystem. Restakers will be able to provide security and receive rewards directly from their native chains via the Nuff Protocol.
Additionally, DVIN Labs, the team behind the dVIN protocol, has announced the appointment of Real Vision co-founder and CEO Raoul Pal to its board of directors. The dVIN Protocol uses blockchain technology to allow wine enthusiasts to monetize their data and be rewarded for their wine activity, purchases, and loyalty.#Wingbits #SeedFunding #FlightTracking #Solana #Blockchain #DePIN #Nuffle #EigenLayer #Modularity #NuffProtocol #CryptoeconomicSecurity #DVINLabs #dVINProtocol #WineEnthusiasts #DataMonetization #SOL #NEAR
