🚀 Cryptocurrency Adoption Grows With Key Partnerships And Integrations

According to BlockBeats, on September 23, K33 Research analyst David Zimmerman highlighted the ongoing practical applications of cryptocurrencies despite skepticism fueled by the meme coin craze. Zimmerman pointed out that the actual use cases for cryptocurrencies are already evident if one looks closely at the market developments.

The market capitalization of stablecoins recently reached $175 billion, underscoring their importance in emerging markets. Stablecoins serve as crucial financial tools for people in these regions, helping them avoid hyperinflation in their local currencies and circumvent exorbitant remittance fees. This growing adoption signifies the practical utility of cryptocurrencies beyond speculative trading.

In a significant move, Mastercard has partnered with Mercuryo to enable users to spend their self-custodied cryptocurrencies at over 100 million merchants. Additionally, PayPal and Venmo have integrated Ethereum Name Service, allowing users to transfer cryptocurrencies using readable names instead of traditional wallet addresses. These integrations are making cryptocurrency transactions more accessible and user-friendly.

The DePIN project Helium has collaborated with major telecom companies, resulting in 113,000 registrations for its mobile service. This indicates a shift where a substantial number of users are opting for cryptocurrency-based services over traditional providers like Verizon. Such partnerships highlight the growing acceptance and integration of cryptocurrencies in mainstream services.

Telegram, with nearly 1 billion monthly active users, has integrated the Open Network (TON), enabling users to transfer cryptocurrencies as easily as sending text messages. Similarly, the Asian messaging app LINE, which boasts over 230 million monthly active users, is implementing a comparable plan with Kaia. These developments reflect the increasing ease of cryptocurrency transactions and their integration into everyday communication platforms.

🚀 Telegram Enhances Search Security to Combat Illegal Activities

According to BlockBeats, on September 23, Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced on his personal channel that the search functionality on Telegram is more powerful than other messaging apps because it allows users to find public channels and bots. Unfortunately, this feature has been misused by some individuals to sell illegal goods, violating Telegram's terms of service.

In recent weeks, a dedicated review team, aided by AI technology, has significantly improved the security of Telegram's search function. All identified problematic content is now inaccessible. Users are encouraged to report any unsafe or illegal content found in Telegram searches via @SearchReport.

To further prevent criminals from abusing Telegram's search feature, the service terms and privacy policy have been updated to ensure global consistency. It is now explicitly stated that the IP addresses and phone numbers of users who violate the rules may be disclosed to relevant authorities upon legitimate request.

These measures aim to deter criminals. Telegram's search function is intended to help users find friends and discover news, not to promote illegal goods. The platform is committed to maintaining the integrity of its nearly one billion users.

🚀 Telegram Introduces New Features Including NFT Gift Conversion

According to PANews, Telegram has launched its first update of the year, introducing third-party supported account verification methods, new message search filters, and a feature to convert gifts into NFTs. Verified accounts will display a unique new badge instead of the traditional blue checkmark. Telegram highlighted in a blog post that this decentralized verification platform effectively prevents scams, reduces misinformation, and sets a new security standard for social platforms.

Additionally, Telegram has introduced a method to convert gifts into NFTs with custom backgrounds and icons. Users can send gifts by spending Telegram Stars, which can be purchased in-app or on the Fragment website after connecting a TON crypto wallet. Telegram stated that users will be able to trade these NFTs across different platforms. It is noteworthy that Telegram will charge users for upgrading gifts to collectibles to cover blockchain transaction fees. The company also uses cryptocurrency to provide monetization opportunities for creators and as a payment method for games and mini-apps on the platform.

Furthermore, Telegram has added emoji reaction features for service messages, such as when someone joins a group, and introduced new search filters for private chats, group chats, and channels.

🚀 Triada Malware Poses Significant Threat to Android Users

According to Odaily, cybersecurity firm Kaspersky has identified the Triada Trojan virus as one of the most complex and dangerous threats to Android devices. The malware has evolved to infiltrate every process on a smartphone, making it extremely difficult to detect and remove. In its latest version, hackers have embedded the malware deep within the system framework of counterfeit smartphones, posing a significant challenge for detection.

Currently, some low-cost Android phones on the market come pre-installed with this malicious software, targeting unsuspecting users. The malware is capable of stealing cryptocurrency, altering phone numbers during calls, and hijacking social media accounts. Between March 13 and March 27, 2025, over 2,600 users encountered the Trojan, which grants attackers nearly unrestricted control over their smartphones.

The malware can extract user credentials from messaging apps like Telegram and TikTok, replace cryptocurrency wallet addresses, and even hijack communications by sending messages on behalf of the victim.

🚀 Telegram CEO Criticizes WhatsApp's Encryption Practices

Telegram CEO Pavel Durov has criticized WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption, labeling it as a 'massive consumer fraud.' According to ChainCatcher, Durov highlighted that approximately 95% of private messages are stored in unencrypted backups on Apple and Google servers.

Durov expressed concerns that this situation poses a risk to user privacy. Despite WhatsApp's claims of using end-to-end encryption for message transmission, the backup mechanism fails to ensure complete encryption of user information. His remarks have sparked industry attention regarding privacy protection measures in mainstream communication applications.
