🚀 Aave Community Faces Governance Dispute Over Revenue Allocation

According to ChainCatcher, the Aave community is currently embroiled in a governance dispute centered around whether the integration of CoW Swap is diverting protocol revenue to Aave Labs instead of the Aave DAO. A representative known as 'EzR3aL' posted on the governance forum, claiming that their on-chain analysis indicates transaction fees generated through the new CoW Swap interface are no longer flowing into the DAO treasury but are redirected to a separate address, estimated to be worth approximately $200,000 weekly.

Marc Zeller, head of the Aave Chan Initiative, described the situation as 'extremely concerning,' accusing it of being a 'secret privatization of about 10% of Aave DAO's potential revenue.' The controversy has also extended to the revenue distribution issues related to Aave Vaults, Horizon, and the Aave v4 liquidation engine.

Aave founder Stani Kulechov responded by asserting that Aave Labs has the right to monetize the front-end interface it develops, particularly for features outside the protocol's core functions. He emphasized that the goal is to enhance protocol users and revenue through new functionalities.

🚀 Aave Protocol Demonstrates Resilience Amid Significant Collateral Liquidations

Aave founder Stani recently shared on the X platform that the Aave protocol and the broader DeFi sector have shown remarkable resilience over the past week. According to Odaily, the protocol has cleared collateral worth over $450 million across multiple networks in the last seven days. This represents approximately 0.9% of the total deposits at the time for the lending protocol, which exceeds $50 billion. Additionally, Aave continues to accumulate extra revenue.

The lending process may encounter bad debts, but Aave has built-in mechanisms to address such situations. Its resilience is attributed to a comprehensive, autonomous liquidation network. Furthermore, a new liquidation engine will be released for Aave V4, enhancing the protocol's flexibility and performance.

Stani believes that DeFi succeeds through resilience, transparency, and superior cost structures, and these systems should be applied to all assets in both the crypto sector and traditional finance.
