🚀 Bitcoin Network Resilience: Submarine Cable Failures Have Minimal Impact

A recent study by Cambridge reveals that Bitcoin's network demonstrates significant resilience to submarine cable failures. According to NS3.AI, the research indicates that more than 10% of nodes would only disconnect if 72–92% of these cables failed simultaneously. In contrast, coordinated outages or restrictions at key hosting and routing providers could disconnect about 10% of reachable clearnet nodes by removing merely around 5% of routing capacity. Currently, Tor supports 63.1% of reachable nodes, ensuring that even in the event of complete clearnet outages, the majority of the network would continue to function.
