👌 OK stems from the Scottish phrase of agreement, ‘och aye’.
👌 OK can be the abbreviation of the Greek words ‘Ola Kala’. It means ‘everything is fine’.
👌 OK can come from the Choctaw word ‘okeh’, which translates to ‘it is so’.
👌 Woodrow Wilson, one of the American Presidents, thought the spelling of ‘Okeh’ is OK. He started using it.
👌 Martin Van Buren (another American President) nicknamed his hometown (Old Kinderhook) as OK.
👌 Journalist Charles Gordon Greene was responsible for the first confirmed use of the word OK in the March 23, 1839 issue of the Boston Morning Post. OK was an abbreviation of ‘Oll Korrect’, or ‘Ole Kurreck’, a humorous misspelling of ‘All Correct’.
