Starbucks задействует сервис Azure Blockchain от компании Microsoft для контроля процесса производства кофе, сообщает портал Geekwire.
⛏Работа Starbucks над интеграцией блокчейна в свою операционную деятельность началась в 2018 году с инициативы «зерно в чашку», нацеленной на отслеживание поставок кофе от фермеров из Коста-Рики, Колумбии и Руанды. Предполагалось, что клиенты кофеен смогут отслеживать перемещение кофе от страны происхождения до своей чашки. Кроме того, при помощи своей блокчейн-инициативы Starbucks рассчитывает расширить финансовые возможности плантаторов.
Как отметили в компании, результаты пилотного проекта будут открыты для всех заинтересованных участников. Для реализации поставленной задачи они обратились к Microsoft и её подразделению Azure.
✅Согласно Geekwire, две компании представили множество совместных инициатив на прошедшей в понедельник конференции Build, организованной Microsoft. Прочие проекты связаны, например, с прогнозируемым оформлением заказов «на ходу» и добавлением в кофейни оборудования, имеющего подключение к интернету вещей.

Starbucks uses Microsoft’s Azure Blockchain service to control the coffee production process, Geekwire reports.
Star Starbucks’s work on integrating the blockchain into its operations began in 2018 with a grain-in-a-cup initiative aimed at tracking coffee supplies from farmers from Costa Rica, Colombia and Rwanda. It was assumed that customers of coffee shops will be able to track the movement of coffee from the country of origin to their cup. In addition, with the help of its blockchain-initiative, Starbucks expects to expand the financial capabilities of planters.
As noted in the company, the results of the pilot project will be open to all interested participants. To implement the task, they turned to Microsoft and its division Azure.

Other projects are associated, for example, with the predicted order processing “on the go” and the addition of equipment to coffee shops that has connection to the Internet of Things.
