В разговоре с The Wall Street Journal Генслер отметил, что регулированию, в частности, подлежат проекты, вознаграждающие своих участников имеющими ценность токенами и использующие другие подобные стимулы, независимо от того, насколько они «децентрализованы».
🔺«По-прежнему присутствует группа ключевых ребят, которые не только пишут код, как в ПО с открытым кодом, но зачастую имеют управленческие полномочия и получают комиссии. Существует некая схема поощрения лиц, продвигающих такие проекты и спонсирующих их, в середине этой системы», — сказал Генслер.
☝️По мнению председателя SEC, термин «DeFi» в некоторой степени искажает смысл происходящего, поскольку такие платформы «занимаются чем-то, что может быть децентрализованным с одной стороны, но высоко централизованным с другой». К примеру, некоторые DeFi-платформы можно сравнить с сервисами однорангового кредитования, которые регулируются SEC, объяснил он.
Ранее Генслер назвал основные направления будущей деятельности SEC в вопросе регулирования криптовалют.

In a conversation with The Wall Street Journal, Gensler noted that the regulation, in particular, is subject to projects that reward their participants with tokens of value and use other similar incentives, regardless of how "decentralized" they are.
🔺 “There is still a group of key guys who not only write code like in open source software, but often have managerial authority and receive commissions. There is some kind of incentive scheme for those promoting and sponsoring such projects in the middle of this system, ”Gensler said.
☝️According to the chairman of the SEC, the term "DeFi" somewhat distorts the meaning of what is happening, since such platforms "are doing something that may be decentralized on the one hand, but highly centralized on the other." For example, some DeFi platforms can be compared to peer-to-peer lending services regulated by the SEC, he explained.
