В 2020 году создатель Zcash и CEO стоящей за ее разработкой Electric Coin Company Зуко Уилкокс заявил, что за время своего существования проект добился больших успехов.

В апреле 2021 года Electric Coin Company анонсировала масштабное обновление Halo Arc, призванное значительно повысить масштабируемость системы и устранить необходимость «доверенных установок».
📌Разработчики позиционировали Halo как «не требующую доверия рекурсивную версию» доказательств с нулевым разглашением.
В августе Уилкокс предложил отказаться от алгоритма консенсуса Proof-of-Work в пользу более энергоэффективного и экологичного Proof-of-Stake.
