The central bank of Sweden (Riksbank) announced its intention to issue a national digital currency pegged to the kroon (CBDC) back in 2018.
The testing of the token should have been completed this year. Now the regulator has shifted the timing of the implementation of its crypto project until February 2022.
🔺A central bank statement released a few days ago says that the Swedish authorities need to get as much information as possible about the technology used in cryptocurrency transactions.
By the end of 2021, the regulator plans to complete work on improving network performance for digital crown operations.
