По заявлению президента, запуск eNaira стал кульминацией нескольких лет исследований, проводимых ЦБ Нигерии (CBN) по расширению границ платежных систем, чтобы сделать финансовые транзакции проще и удобнее. eNaira не заменяет национальную валюту Нигерии, а будет использоваться совместно с ней.
