The American Express international payment service, together with the Abra crypto company, will offer customers a Crypto Rewards card against the background of the growth of the market for credit products with a reward in cryptocurrency.
Abra CEO Bill Barhydt said that cardholders will be offered bonuses in more than 100 different Abra-supported cryptocurrencies as a reward for cardholders with purchases of any amount, with no transaction fees.
🔺"The new joint initiative represents another step towards Abra's goal of offering an instant line of credit directly at the point of sale. This is the future of payments,” said Barhydta.
📌American Express first funded the Abra crypto bank in 2015. It was supported by such companies as Digital Currency Group, Pantera Capital and Stellar Development Foundation. Thanks to the new solution, American Express enters the market of products with cryptocurrency bonuses, which is now divided between Gemini, which offers rewards in the form of bitcoin and more than 60 altcoins, BlockFi and Visa, which released similar products even earlier.
At the same time, the largest US payment system recently filed an application for registration of seven new trademarks related to non-fungible tokens and Web3.
