A statement by the German Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), published earlier this week, says that cryptocurrency can now be recognized as a financial instrument.
🔺The regulator issued a document in which he noted that digital currencies have value, but are not issued by the central bank or any other government agency. Accordingly, the state cannot act as a guarantor of the preservation of the value of any token.
The BaFin statement also emphasizes that its definition of cryptocurrency coincides with the definition that many international organizations give to digital assets, for example, FATF (Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering).
📌Digital currencies can be used by legal entities and individuals. Such coins can be stored, moved and paid by them for goods and services.
Interest in cryptocurrencies, and bitcoin in particular. in Germany is growing rapidly. In early February, it was reported that more than 40 German banks turned to BaFin with a request to allow them to process transactions with Bitcoin and other digital currencies.

Один из старейших европейских банков Bankhaus von der Heydt (BVDH) объявил о запуске на сети Stellar нового стейблкоина EURB, стоимость которого привязана к курсу евро.
❗️Как заявляют представители BVDH, стейблкоин EURB стал первой стабильной криптовалютной, выпущенной банковским учреждением. Для выпуска монеты банк сотрудничал с компанией Bitbond, занимающейся токенизацией активов и предоставляющей кастодиальные услуги.
При этом актив, по заявлению банка, полностью регулируется. Поэтому свободного доступа к торговле EURB на криптовалютных биржах не будет из-за требований по идентификации пользователей и регуляторных норм. Для покупки стейблкоина клиент должен сделать депозит на эскроу-счет в банке BVDH, что запустит процесс выпуска монет EURB.
Уже сейчас разработчики финансовых приложений могут воспользоваться стейблкоином для быстрых расчетов. При этом благодаря платформе Bitbond полный контроль над EURB остается у банка, включая возможность выпуска и уничтожения монет.
