Trump threatens Insurrection Act deployment amid Minneapolis unrest

...The Insurrection Act of 1907 authorizes the US president to send military troops into an area to quell civil unrest by temporarily overriding the Posse Comitatus Act, which restricts the use of the military for domestic law enforcement purposes. It has not been called upon since the 1992 Los Angeles riots, though it has been used more than two dozen times since its signing.

"If the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don't obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the Patriots of ICE, who are only trying to do their job, I will institute the INSURRECTION ACT, which many Presidents have done before me, and quickly put an end to the travesty that is taking place in that once great State," Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Thursday morning.

The Anti-Defamation League is writing Sunday school curriculum for Hispanic evangelical churches as part of a "partnership" with the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt reveals.

"We have roughly 2,000 active synagogues in America. There are 42,000 active Hispanic evangelical churches," Greenblatt tells an LA synagogue. "Right now, the ADL is co-writing Sunday school curriculum with them. Right now, the ADL is working on joint lobby days with them."

"I am not the Antichrist"

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew refuted the claim by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service that he is the Antichrist, according to the British newspaper The Times.

"I am not the Antichrist," the head of the Orthodox Church told the Kremlin, according to the newspaper's headline.

Bartholomew also denied being a "British spy," as he was also accused by Russian intelligence.

These comments came in response to a statement by the SVR, which called Bartholomew the "Antichrist in a robe" and the "Devil in flesh."

Among other things, Russian intelligence accused Bartholomew of splitting Orthodox Christianity, attempting to oust the Russian Orthodox Church from the Baltic states, and subordinating church structures in Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia to himself.

The SVR also claimed that Bartholomew intends to strike at the Serbian Orthodox Church by granting autocephaly to the unrecognized Montenegrin Orthodox Church.

Patriarch Bartholomew, in a comment to The Times, called these accusations "fake news" and part of a stream of "invented scenarios, insults, and fabricated information."
