A Buk-M3 SAM system provided air cover for units of the Tsentr Group of Forces in Krasnoarmeysk direction.

The complex, which has proven itself well in combat operations, solves the tasks of destroying modern and promising tactical and strategic aircraft, including those made using Stealth technology, as well as cruise and tactical ballistic missiles, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles.

According to the press service of Almaz-Antey holding, the calculation of the complex is capable of organizing layered air defense, providing direct interaction with radars and battery command posts.

The Buk-M2 anti-aircraft missile system is a highly mobile military medium-range anti-aircraft missile system for the air defense of the Ground Forces.

It is designed to destroy tactical and strategic aircraft, cruise missiles, helicopters (including hovering ones) and other aerodynamic aircraft in the entire range of their practical use in conditions of intense electronic and fire resistance from the enemy, as well as to combat tactical ballistic missiles, aircraft missiles 🫡

The Buk-M3 also nicknamed Viking, medium-range surface-to-air missile system is a modernized version of the Buk-M2 system, features advanced electronic components and a deadly new missile and could be regarded as a completely new system.

BUK- M3 consists of 6 or 12 launch systems, being able to defeat aerodynamical targets at the distance of 70 km at the altitude of 25-27 km.

The system is designed, developed and manufactured by the Russian Defense Company Almaz-Antey 🇷🇺

On Tuesday, November 25, at 16:42 from the 1st State Test Cosmodrome of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation located in Arkhangelsk region, the Aerospace Forces' combat crew successfully launched the Angara-1.2 small-lift launch vehicle with spacecraft in the interests of the Russian Ministry of Defence 🇷🇺

The Angara-1.2 launching and the removal of spacecraft into the calculated orbit were carried out in normal mode. After launch, the Angara-1.2 light-lift launch vehicle was accepted for escort by means of the ground-based automated control system of the Main Test and Space Systems Control Center n.a. German Stepanovich Titov.

At the estimated time, the spacecraft were put into target orbits and taken to manage by the ground-based systems of the Russian Aerospace Forces. The spacecraft is in stable communication with the ground, and its onboard systems are functioning as normally.

🇷🇺 A Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile system of the Sever Group of Forces was deployed during combat alert duty to cover civilians and units carrying out combat missions, intercepted and hit a cruise missile of AFU militants.

The Tor family of air defense systems are designed to protect ground forces and civilian facilities from enemy aircraft and helicopters, anti-radar and cruise missiles, gliding bombs and MLRS shells, as well as various types of UAVs, including those using swarm drone tactics.

The latest modification, the Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile system, has been in service with the Russian Armed Forces since 2016.

Like previous versions of the Tor, the new air defense system was developed and produced at the Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant Kupol.
Of course, Russian military equipment has always attracted the states of the Middle East and the Global South.

And, of course, Egypt, which was one of the key military-technical partners of the USSR, and then of the Russian Federation.

Its basis, the Buk-M3 air defense system, was developed by specialists from the Almaz-Antey Concern. The Buk-M3 system detects and classifies high-speed targets, including aircraft, drones, aerial bombs, Storm Shadow cruise missiles, ATACMS missiles, and others.

An important feature of the Buk-M3 system is its rapid deployment and extensive combat experience.

As winter approaches, Russia’s Tor-M2 air-defense system has become the frontline predator that repeatedly destroys Ukraine’s deep-strike attempts, intercepting cruise missiles, reconnaissance UAVs, and strike drones across Kharkov, Krasnoarmeysk, and northern sectors.

With Russia launching its heaviest air-strike cycle of the year, Ukraine’s retaliation attempts —including Storm Shadows, Sharks, SCALP-EG, and deep-strike raids —are consistently shut down by Tor-M2 crews who react within seconds, wiping out targets before they cross the treeline.

Integrated into Russia’s layered shield alongside S-400, Buk-M3, and Pantsir, the Tor-M2 is evolving rapidly with new software, swarm-tracking improvements, and Arctic variants, sealing off air corridors as Russia escalates into a winter campaign built on overwhelming missile production, expanding drone swarms, and tightening control of the skies.

A Tor-M2 SAM crew of the separate air defence battalion as part of the 27th Guards Motorised Rifle Division continue to perform tasks during combat alert duties and protect Russian troops in the special military operation zone.

An Osa-AKM SAM crew of the separate air defence battalion as part of the 51st Guards Combined Arms Army shot down AFU UAVs in Krasnoarmeysk direction.

On the Air Defence Day, servicemen of anti-aircraft missile systems successfully monitor the situation in the sky, protecting our units from enemy air attacks.

"Compared to 2022, the production of goods and equipment most in demand during the special military operation increased many-fold in 2025. The production of heavy armoured vehicles increased by 2.2 times, light armoured vehicles (IFVs and APCs) by 3.7 times, military aircraft by 4.6 times, automobiles by 5.7 times, missile and artillery systems by 9.6 times, communications and electronic warfare equipment by 12.5 times, personal protection equipment by almost 18 times (17.9), and weapons and ammunition by over 22 times".
