Explosive remnants of war continue to pose risks across south Lebanon. Working closely with United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS), UNIFIL peacekeepers help reduce these risks through Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and demining efforts, supporting the implementation of resolution 1701.
On 21 June, a UNIFIL EOD team safely disposed of an unexploded munition found near a UN position in Ibil es-Saqi, removing a potential danger to nearby residents and UN personnel.
Since the escalation of hostilities, peacekeepers have located and neutralized dozens of unexploded ordnances, improvised explosive devices and crashed drones, while helping keep routes safe for patrols, humanitarian missions and local communities.

Explosive hazards continue to threaten civilians, the Lebanese army, and peacekeepers in south Lebanon. Working every day to make the area safer, UNIFIL's Explosive Ordnance Disposal team recently located and safely neutralized nearly 4,000 kg of volatile explosive material near Houla.

لا تزال مخاطر المتفجرات تشكّل تهديداً للمدنيين والجيش اللبناني وحفظة السلام في جنوب لبنان. وفي إطار جهوده اليومية لجعل المنطقة أكثر أمناً،عثر فريق إزالة الذخائر المتفجرة التابع لليونيفيل مؤخراً على نحو 4,000 كيلوغرام من المواد المتفجرة شديدة الخطورة بالقرب من بلدة حولا، وتمكّن من التعامل معها بأمان.
إلى جانب جهودها للحد من مخاطر المتفجرات، تواصل اليونيفيل أيضاً دعم المجتمعات المحلية من خلال تسهيل الوصول إلى الرعاية الصحية والمياه النظيفة والمساعدات الإنسانية، بما يساعد السكان على التعافي وإعادة البناء.

Recently, UNIFIL distributed more than 800 hygiene kits across six municipalities, benefiting over 4,000 residents.
The kits, containing essential hygiene and cleaning supplies for a family of five for about one month, were adapted after consultations with local women to better fit community needs.
Support reached families in Ma’arkah, Tayr Felsay, Toura, Hallousiyah, Yanuh and Jinata.

مع تراجع حدّة العنف، تمكّن حفظة السلام من توسيع نطاق أنشطتهم، بما يشمل تنفيذ المهام العملياتية، وتعزيز جهود التنسيق، ودعم المجتمعات المحلية.
ومؤخراً، وزّعت اليونيفيل أكثر من 800 حصة من مستلزمات النظافة على عائلات في ست بلديات، استفاد منها أكثر من 4,000 شخص.
وتحتوي الحصص على مستلزمات النظافة والتعقيم الأساسية التي تكفي أسرة مكوّنة من خمسة أفراد لمدة شهر تقريباً. وقد جرى تعديل محتويات الحصص بعد التشاور مع نساء من المجتمعات المستفيدة، بما يلبّي احتياجاتهن بشكل أفضل.
وشمل التوزيع عائلات في معركة، وطيرفلسيه، وطورا، والحلوسية، ويانوح، وجناتا.
