According to data, the top 10 countries account for approximately 75% of all overseas hashtag#Indians. The hashtag#UnitedStates ranks first, with 5.4 million individuals, roughly 1.6% of the U.S. population. This community is now the country’s second-largest hashtag#immigrant group, with a strong presence across the technology sector and public institutions.

In the Gulf region, countries such as the hashtag#UAE, hashtag#SaudiArabia, and hashtag#Kuwait also host substantial Indian populations. Migration to these economies has been largely shaped by labor demand since the oil sector's expansion in the 1970s. Today, nearly one-third of the foreign workforce in these countries is Indian.

The economic contribution of this diaspora is significant. In 2023, Indians working abroad sent home over $100 billion in remittances, a record high.

🇺🇸🇷🇺 US sanctions against Russia have been ineffective, Treasury Secretary Bessent said on NBC News.

The measures taken under the Biden administration had not produced tangible results because they were limited by concerns about a possible rise in domestic oil prices.

Bessent said Washington was prepared to increase sanctions in conjunction with its European allies. But previous sanctions had not had much effect.

Bessent declined to specify a timeframe for a possible expansion of sanctions, so as not to tie Trump's hands ahead of talks with Putin.
