China has reportedly tested its DF-27A hypersonic glide vehicle, clocking speeds around Mach 8.6 and covering roughly 2,100 kilometers in about 12 minutes

The system is assessed to have a potential range of 8,000 kilometers or more depending on payload, expanding China’s ability to strike distant, high-value targets, including at sea

The test adds to earlier intelligence reports and suggests China is moving from experimental hypersonic trials toward more regular validation of operational systems

Moreover, by becoming the first major anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) power, China has dramatically changed the naval balance in the Western Pacific

Also, the DF-27’s range covers not only Alaska and Hawaii but also parts of the continental United States

With extreme speed and maneuverability, weapons like the DF-27A shorten warning times and complicate interception and decision-making during crises

Introduction The BRICS grouping—comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa—was founded on three major tenets: economic cooperation, political coordination, and people-to-people exchanges. Despite its vast scope of interests and goals, BRICS is still seen as a forum for economic and developmental partnership, rather than a comprehensive political or security alliance (Mdlokovana, 2025). In BRICS, […]  Read more »

The world’s first 6-ton-class tiltrotor aircraft, the Lanying R6000, has successfully completed its maiden flight in Sichuan. The aircraft, made by an independent company, can carry 12 people, reach speeds of up to 550 km/h, and has a range of 4,000 km

Lanying is expected to serve point-to-point air commuting in cities, across sea routes, and in mountainous areas, reducing time and distance and helping build cross-regional ‘door-to-door’ transport networks

Would you use this one as means of regular transport?

Navigating the labyrinths of the global economy
The worst labyrinth is not that intricate form that can entrap us forever, but a single and precise straight line. –Jorge Luis Borges

Almost a century ago Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca observed: “I know there is no straight road, no straight road in this world, only a giant labyrinth of intersecting crossroads”[1]. Today the world seems even more of a labyrinth than before – to...  Read more »

North Korea just ran a “strategic” cruise-missile drill—here’s why it matters 🚨🛰️

State media says the launches happened Sunday over the West Sea, with Kim Jong Un personally overseeing the exercise.

Officials framed it as a readiness check: validating firing procedures, maneuverability, and a “counterattack” capability, with missiles flying preset routes and hitting maritime targets—while withholding details like range or number fired.

🚨 Bribes-for-votes in Ukraine’s Parliament? 🔎

Ukraine’s anti-corruption agencies (NABU and SAPO) say an undercover operation uncovered an organized group that allegedly included current MPs who “systematically” took illegal benefits in exchange for voting 🗳️

Investigators also claim they were blocked by security when trying to enter Parliament to search committee offices, warning that interference would violate the law. The allegations land amid a broader corruption storm, including a separate energy-sector case involving roughly $100M, as President Zelensky travels to the US to meet President Donald Trump.

🗳️ Myanmar’s junta-run election is already drawing controversy, and the pro-military USDP says it’s winning big.

After the first voting round, the party claims 82 of 102 lower-house seats counted so far, with more rounds scheduled in January and official results still pending.

Critics (including UN voices and rights groups) say the process is tightly controlled and stacked toward military-linked candidates after the 2021 coup.

What would a “credible” path back to civilian rule look like to you—and who should help make it possible? 💬

Could BRICS+ help Indigenous and local communities shape global environmental policy? 🌍

A new analysis argues that while Indigenous peoples lead conservation, they’re still sidelined in major global forums—and BRICS+ could open alternative paths through multipolar, South‑South cooperation.

It points to tools like the New Development Bank’s green financing, technology sharing, and new trade networks for Indigenous products, but warns BRICS+ still lacks a strong, binding framework for Indigenous rights.

What safeguards and opportunities would matter most if this bloc becomes more influential? 💬🤝

🔥 Renewables vs LNG: Is a gas “bubble” about to pop? 🌬️

A new report warns the global LNG boom could be building more capacity than the market will actually need—setting up an oversupply bubble. It highlights that major players are still pushing aggressive expansion plans (some projections point to about a 50% jump by 2030), even as solar, wind, and battery storage keep getting cheaper and start eating into gas demand for power. If demand falls short, today’s mega-projects could become tomorrow’s stranded assets.

Do you see LNG as a smart bridge fuel—or a risky bet in a faster-than-expected transition? 🤔💬

Emerging markets are back, and China is quietly reshaping trade 📈

An LSEG analysis says EM local-currency government bonds are up around 15% YTD, and EM indices are tracking their strongest year since 2017, helped by attractive valuations and a softer dollar.
It also highlights China’s export resilience: the U.S. is now about 10% of China’s direct exports, while shipments to regions like ASEAN, Africa, Latin America, and the EU rose strongly in September.

With expected Fed easing and a softer dollar, investors are hunting yield outside the U.S. while China keeps accommodative policy amid deflation pressure.

What do you see ahead: real opportunity, or a riskier bounce?
