North Korea Opens Special Economic Zone "Rason" for Global Tourists, Excluding the US and South Korea

North Korea has inaugurated the "Rason" Special Economic Zone, now open to tourists from around the world, with the exception of visitors from the United States and South Korea.

Bookings are already available, with a focus on attracting travelers from Russia and China. Kim Jong Un personally oversees the development of the "Wonsan-Kalma" Resort, a sprawling 2.5 km² facility featuring 150 buildings, including 17 hotels, 37 inns, along with shops, restaurants, a water park, cinema, stadium, and an airport.

The Brazilian Foreign Ministry has announced that Nigeria has officially joined BRICS as a partner country

The ministry said in a statement that the Brazilian government, which is temporarily leading the organisation, announced Nigeria’s admission to the group on January 17.

“The Brazilian government welcomes the decision of the Nigerian government,” the Brazilian Foreign Ministry emphasised.

For the first time, China is sending one of its top-ranking Communist Party officials to attend Donald Trump’s inauguration on Monday.

Although Trump had invited Chinese President Xi Jinping to the ceremony, China’s Foreign Ministry confirmed on Friday that Vice President Han Zheng would represent Xi as a special envoy.

"We stand ready to work with the new U.S. government to enhance dialogue and communication … and find the right way for the two countries to get along with each other," the ministry stated.
