Bonzai (aka Bonzi) is the cat next door. Today I look after him for my long time friend and neighbour. ❤️

I've known Bonzi almost his whole life, I also found him on the street about 8 years ago when I still had my own cats.

My friend of 20+ years (who eventually became my neighbour) took him in.
He was owned by a Turkish shop who only used him for mice hunting and left him in the store overnight, but he would escape all the time.

They named him Bonzai, we call him Bonzi.
So she got to adopt him eventually and I’ve been his auntie ever since.

Bonzi is allowed to go outside (despite living in the city), but both me and my neighbour don't live on the ground floor. As a result we're sometimes endlessly waiting for him to come inside.

He meows when he wants to come inside, so you run down all the flights of stairs only for him to change his mind 🙄

Now he has learned to open the apartment door so he runs downstairs and hopes someone will let him out. 😂
Especially in summer.

It’s a great workout to do all those stairs back and forth, he made a slave out of me and my neighbour friend 🫠

Even if i wasn’t born yet until 20 years later, I miss the old days where people were still connected on a different level.

Not to mention the style and elegance that was in those times.
