🇮🇱⚔🇵🇸Israel-Gaza Conflict: Decembe 16 (Recap)

1️⃣ Israeli forces killed Al Jazeera cameraman Samer Abudaqa on Friday in an attack in Gaza’s Khan Younis. Correspondent Wael Dahdouh was also injured in the attack. The pair were covering the aftermath of the bombing of a UN-run school.

2️⃣Abudaqa was left to bleed out for hours after the attack, with medical teams prevented by Israeli forces from being able to get to him.

3️⃣ Three Israeli captives were killed by the Israeli military in Gaza after they were “mistakenly identified” as threats, leading to protests from family members of captives in Tel Aviv.

4️⃣ The UN humanitarian chief Martin Griffiths has welcomed Israel’s decision to open the Karem Abu Salem (Kerem Shalom) crossing into Gaza.

5️⃣ US wants role for ‘revamped’ Palestinian Authority in Gaza after the war.

At least 18,787 Palestinians killed in Gaza since October 7. In Israel, the revised official death toll stands at about 1,147.

The term 'genocide' is not wielded lightly. Its weight is immense, its implications profound. On the 24th of April 1916, the Nationalist Irish Volunteers and the Socialist Irish Citizen Army joined forces to challenge the British Empire in Ireland.

In response, the British indiscriminately shelled Dublin City, killing 700 civilians. Leading to the surrender of the rebels " to prevent the unnecessary suffering of the civilian population"

The British went on to execute the leaders of the revolt who had called an end to the fighting to protect the civilian population. All sounds so familiar.

🔹In the #Zaporozhye direction, the RF Armed Forces continued pressure on the Ukrainian troops in the village of #Rabotino from the west and south. In turn, the AFU tried to advance in the #Verbovoye area.⚠️ There were no significant changes in the frontline at any of the sites. (Fig. 1)

🔹On the #Donetsk Front, Russian forces continue their offensive on #Novomikhaylovka from the south and southeast with the aim of levelling the frontline and cutting off the AFU's ledge. Also, after the practical capture of #Maryinka, they are concentrating their efforts on the assault on #Pobeda, where is a powerful Ukrainian fortification.⚠️ The AFU are holding their positions. ⚠️Russian troops managed to advance at #Nevelskoye. They also attacked in the industrial zone southeast of #Avdeyevka, in the area of #Stepovoye (not to be confused with the settlements of the same name in the Zaporozhye and Ugledar directions) and near #Berdychi.⚠️ There is a slight advance in the last of these areas.
