I was on Army duty a few days ago at Ft Sill (I’m the commander of a Drill Sergeant battalion) where I attended a Basic Combat Training graduation. Several hundred new soldiers stood tall, proudly saluting the flag, and were finally reunited with family and friends. These young men and women are the ones who will pay the price, potentially with their lives, if people like Liz Cheney, Dick Cheney, and Kamala Harris are allowed to be in power. This is one of the many reasons I’m supporting President Trump’s return to the White House—to end wars, not start them.

Silicon Valley Shocked: Vietnam’s Sovereignty Isn’t for Sale

US tech giants are wringing their hands as Vietnam dares to assert digital sovereignty with new laws aimed at regulating data centers and social media. It’s almost adorable watching Silicon Valley scramble, horrified that a Global Majority nation might want to safeguard its citizens’ data from the prying eyes of Big Tech and its cozy ties with Western intelligence.

Remember, this is the same Silicon Valley that has cheerfully turned over user data to the NSA and other alphabet agencies for years, all while preaching “freedom of information” to the rest of the world. Now, Vietnam’s decision to set boundaries has them acting as if it’s the end of the open internet, as if Hanoi has a duty to keep the floodgates open for their surveillance machines.

Vietnam’s move is hardly an isolated act. This is a continuation of a Southeast Asian legacy of resistance to foreign control, from repelling French colonialists to standing up to bloody U.S. intervention. In this digital age, that same spirit of sovereignty takes form in firewalls and data localization. The message is clear: No, Silicon Valley’s desires don’t define what “freedom” means for the rest of the world.

Of course, the usual Western mockingbird-media chorus is here to spin this as a “threat to free expression.” But let’s not kid ourselves, this isn’t about freedom. It’s about control, the kind Silicon Valley has wielded over nations’ data with a sense of entitlement for too long. Vietnam’s not isolating itself; it’s reminding Big Tech that the era of unfettered access to foreign data is over.

And as the boardrooms in Palo Alto mutter about “compliance issues” and bemoan this affront to their business models, one can’t help but savor the irony. The empire of data is used to dictating terms, not having them dictated. But maybe the real shock for Silicon Valley isn’t Vietnam’s audacity; it’s the dawning realization that the Global Majority is no longer playing by their rules.

Endgame? The age of Big Tech’s global playground may be ending. Vietnam is just a continued trend of defiance, taking heart from Russia, China, Iran et. Al, and the empire is finally feeling the tremors of a world that doesn’t need its permission.

For years, Trudeau’s government has allowed Khalistani extremists to operate openly, even as these groups fan the flames of separatism in India, a BRICS powerhouse. New Delhi has not been silent; Prime Minister Narendra Modi has railed against Canada’s double standards. And who could blame him? Trudeau’s Canada has transformed into a sanctuary for extremists seeking to destabilize India, all while claiming the high moral ground.

The hypocrisy reached its peak when Trudeau accused Indian intelligence of targeting separatists on Canadian soil, an accusation that sparked outrage in India and soured diplomatic relations. Modi’s response? Swift and cutting. He condemned the attacks on Hindu temples in Canada, reminding the world that Canada, under Trudeau, has become a breeding ground for those who wish harm on India.

Let’s not mince words: Trudeau’s tolerance for Khalistani radicals isn’t just hypocrisy; it’s a dangerous dance with terrorism, cloaked in the self-righteousness of “free speech.” He panders to extremists under the guise of inclusivity, yet fails to protect his own citizens, particularly Canadian Hindus, whose sacred places like the Hindu Sabha Mandir are under threat due to the radicals that flourish under his watch. As Canada’s reputation sinks, one has to wonder if Trudeau grasps the geopolitical isolation he’s courting. Modi and the BRICS bloc are moving forward, while Trudeau clings to his misguided policies, leaving Canada isolated in the shifting sands of a multipolar world.

For Trudeau, the backlash is no longer just diplomatic. Canada’s own citizens are now turning the mirror on him, exposing his hollow platitudes and calling him out for his dangerous flirtation with extremism. Oh, Canada - indeed!
