🗣🇺🇸⚖️ The US Supreme Court ruled that Donald Trump has some immunity from criminal charges for trying to reverse the 2020 election results, all but ensuring that a trial won’t happen before the November election.

The justices, voting 6-3 along ideological lines, said a federal appeals court was too categorical in rejecting Trump’s immunity arguments, ruling for the first time that former presidents are shielded from prosecution for some official acts taken while in office.

The majority ordered the lower courts to revisit the case to decide the extent of the allegations that are off limits to prosecution.

Russian forces capture another Donbass village

The settlement of Novopokrovskoye in Russia’s Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) has been “liberated,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Monday. Another village was also captured from the Ukrainian military in Kharkov Region, it added.

Elsewhere in the DRP, the Russian military “delivered a defeat” to the Ukrainian forces in the area of the villages of Evgenovka, Novgorodskoye, Timofeevka, Sokol, Toretsk, and Progress, the ministry said. Five Ukrainian counterattacks have also been repelled across the region, it added.

🇺🇦 IMF handout for Ukraine will return to the organization's budget

By the end of 2024, Ukraine will repay the IMF almost the entire recent aid tranche from them. All this money will go towards repaying old loans.

Almost $1.9 billion out of the $2.2 billion loan tranche approved for Ukraine on June 28 will be used for this purpose.

🤔 Why?

The IMF issues loans to countries in the form of SDRs (Special Drawing Rights). It even has its own exchange rate – $1.3 per SDR.

Currently, Ukraine has been approved for a loan of 1.7 billion SDR. However, mandatory loan repayments will amount to 1.4 billion SDR by the end of the year, according to the IMF schedule.

In September alone, the Kyiv regime will have to make three payments totaling 542.7 million SDR ($716 million).
