The Resurrection is a sculpture created by Pericle Fazzini between 1970 and unveiled by Pope Paul VI in 1977 and dominates the stage of the Vatican hall where the pope’s general audiences are held.

Cut Fazzini's Resurrection in half, and replace the left half with the mirror image of the right. And it gets clear why the figure is so discomforting. 

Consider that it took Fazzini over a decade from the commission in 1965 and completion in 1977. The original was done in polystyrene and fumes from the burning plastic gave Fazzini a blood clot. The point is it wasn't something done spontaneously. It was carefully planned

The United States Air Force engaged in the only known militarization of meteorology in what would become known as Operation Popeye.

The project spanned five years and cost taxpayers an estimated 15 million dollars.

The plan used cloud seeding technology, a technique commonly used today to disperse fog and induce rainfall in dry climates. By dispersing chemicals like silver and lead iodide or even just dry ice into clouds, causing condensations and vertical rotation.
