The Lighthouse of Alexandria : A Wonder That Resurfaces

More than two millennia after its glory, the Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, resurfaces thanks to a bold archaeological mission. Twenty-two massive blocks, weighing up to 88 tons, have been extracted from the Mediterranean Sea, revealing architectural elements such as a gateway pylon blending Egyptian style and Hellenistic techniques, offering new insight into Greco-Egyptian architectural fusion during the Ptolemaic era. Led by Isabelle Hairy of the CNRS, the operation is part of the PHAROS project, combining underwater archaeology and digital technology. Supported by the Dassault Systèmes Foundation, the initiative aims to create a digital twin of the lighthouse, virtually reconstructing its 328-foot height. These blocks, digitized via photogrammetry, will allow exploration of hypotheses about its construction and collapse, which occurred after earthquakes in the 13th and 14th centuries. This project, the result of 30 years of research, brings back to life the “first skyscraper of humanity.”

🇮🇹 Collana d'oro, circa 400-550 d.C.

🇭🇲 Gold necklace, circa 400-550 AD.

The necklace was discovered in a field near Esbjerg on the Jutland peninsula.

The necklace weighs almost half a kilo — 446 grams. The decorations on the necklace are so rare that it is considered a 'masterpiece of almost divine quality'. No more than 10 similar pieces of jewellery are known to exist in Denmark. This is undoubtedly the most elaborate and finely crafted of them all.

O colar pesa quase meio quilo — 446 gramas.

🇭🇲 Soft stones from Egypt.

These stones were as soft as plasticine when they were laid. Notice how they have been pressed against each other? Lost laying technology? Or are they hiding something from us again?

🇧🇷 Pedras macias do Egito.

𝙶𝙻𝙽:𝟷𝟹:𝟺 | If a man come upon another asleep, the sleeper must be awakened quietly and with gentleness, so the Lord of the Body may re-enter peacefully. For if the sleeper be awakened before it has re-entered, or if it jump back in fright, then the man will become sick. Therefore, when awakening a sleeper, it is well to call gently to the being without.

I've been using them to make honey and tea. If my yard doesn't grow enough of them I go by a nearby little league field for more. And we make sure we leave some for the bees even though we haven't seen 1 honey bee this summer yet. Not a good sign.

🇬🇧 Culture vs Anti-Culture

The term culture comes from the Latin cultus, which in turn derives from the word colere, which had multiple meanings such as inhabiting, cultivating, protecting and honoring. Initially, cultus was associated with the care of the land and livestock, but over time, it evolved to refer to the cultivation of the spirit and, eventually, to the customs and achievements of a human group.

In its origins, culture was linked to agriculture, the cultivation of the land and the care of livestock. In the Middle Ages it was used to describe a cultivated land. In the Renaissance the idea of "cultivated man" appeared, referring to scholarship in Literature and Arts. In the Enlightenment the concept was expanded to include enlightened knowledge and became associated with the idea of progress. In the nineteenth century, the notions of good manners and customs were incorporated, and the opposition between culture and civilization arose. In the twentieth century, culture was defined as a complex whole that encompassed knowledge, beliefs, art, morals, laws, customs and skills acquired by humans as a member of a society.

In ancient times, Cicero used the term to refer to Philosophy as the cultivation of the spirit. Anthropology has developed a broader definition of culture, which includes patterns of behavior, achievements, and symbolic products passed down between generations. In Germany, the term culture developed under the influence of National Socialism, becoming associated with race identity.

The term culture has undergone a significant evolution over time, from its agricultural origins to its current conception as a complex set of elements that characterize a human group.

But not everything that human groups practice is culture...

Violence against others is anti-culture. Subjugating women as is done in Islam is anti-culture. The systematic extermination carried out by the Jews in Palestine is anti-culture. What the repressive dictators do with their peoples is to sow anti-culture. The destruction of families and therefore of society, implanting political, religious ideologies, etc. is anti-culture.

We live in a world where human beings (because of anti-culture) are no longer sure (whether man or woman) what their primary function is in their environment, society, family, country, etc.

The system has been promoting anti-culture for decades in order to break down what is the basis of a healthy society: THE FAMILY.

I grew up in Castle Rock, CO. As a child, I could see a face looking over the town. Do you see it? It’s directly under the star structure.

The star is lit with light bulbs 💡 every night 6-10pm during the Christmas season. There’s a lighting ceremony each year around the end of November and it stays lit each night until early January 🌟
