Sutro Baths San Francisco.
Dates given- building took 6 years from 1890-1896
The baths were in use for allegedly 24 years until the great depression and finally burned down in 1966.
Known as a Victorian marvel this building had a small temple at one entrance, from the gallery one can reach the baths by elevator or stairways.
The Baths are lighted by electricity, two 800 candle-power arc lights and a number of 25 candle-power lights.
Tiers upon tiers of seats and various swimming tanks filled through canals by the ocean.
In all 6 tanks some of which were heated.
Water was pumped back out to sea keeping the tanks clean.
Amount of glass used 100 000 feet
Holding capacity 25 000 people
Dressing rooms 1627
